Reaction

We have 4 all Premier League ties in this draw and home advantage to the majority of the big teams with the exception of Manchester City who travel to Oxford and Chelsea who have the daunting prospect of a trip to Anfield.

The stand out tie is Liverpool v Chelsea, an all Premier League tie and the biggest fixture of the lot. This is a tie that would normally grace a final, indeed these two teams met in the 2012 FA Cup Final with Chelsea winning 2-1.

From a West Ham point of view it couldn't have been better, a home tie against the weakest side left in the competition, Macclesfield. The only problem with tie's like these is that we often lose to weaker teams, however with the game being played at the London Stadium I think that gives us a great chance to progress further.

Looking up Macclesfield for previous meeting between the clubs show that in 2008 West Ham came from a goal down to win 4-1 in extra time, this was in this very competition 10 years ago.

The other big tie is Everton v Southampton, another all Premier League tie of two evenly matched teams, I would guess Everton would be favourites, but I wouldn't like to call it.

Joke

My post picture is a little joke towards the name of this cup!
