Premier League club, Arsenal are reportedly really serious about bringing Nicolas Pepe. The team from North London is rumored to be making Lille's winger their transfer priority in the winter.

As is well known, Arsenal are doing a major overhaul on their team. Their new coach, Unai Emery is trying to form the North London team as a contender for the EPL title this season.

So far the Arsenal progress is going well. But Unai Emery reportedly wants to add ammunition in the attack line so Arsenal are getting sharper.

Reported by The Mirror, Unai Emery already has the right candidate to strengthen Arsenal's attack line. He wants the Gunners to hunt down Nicolas Pepe in the winter transfer market later.

Lack of Ammunition

According to the report, the reason Arsenal will prioritize Pepe's transfer is because they don't have a stock of right-wing winger on their team.

Until now only Alex Iwobi is the only natural winger on the right side of Arsenal. However, due to Iwobi's fierce performance, Emery sometimes plays Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil widened to the right.

For that Emery felt the need for the right right winger for his team, and he felt Pepe had the right profile for his needs.

Rising Star

Pepe himself can be said to be a rising star in Ligue 1 in the past two years. His name began to skyrocket since he joined Lille last year.

Pepe has scored 17 goals in a total of 42 appearances for Lille in the Ligue 1 event. This season he has scored 5 goals and 3 assists from 8 Ligue 1 matches this season.

With his slick profile, Emery believes that the young man can contribute greatly to his team so he becomes a transfer priority for the Gunners.

Expensive price

Pepe himself is still bound by a 4-year contract at Lille. With so many enthusiasts for the young man, Lille reportedly will release it if there is a team that dares to redeem the young man for 50 million pounds.
