Munoz was free, the Escobar family was disappointed. Dario, Escobar's father, considers that the law in Colombia does not apply to the murder of his son.
"To be honest, there is no justice in Colombia. They have deceived this country and our family by saying Munoz was jailed for 43 years. But now the perpetrators are free," Dario said.
Funerals attended by hundreds of thousands of people
Escobar is already considered a hero by the people of Colombia. His funeral was even attended by around 120 thousand people.
Escobar's body was interred in Montesacro Cemetery, Meddelin. Eight years after the bloody event, the statue of Escobar was founded by the Government of Meddelin, the hometown of Escobar.
