As per reports, the takeover of Newcastle United Football Club has officially collapsed. The Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund had initially planned a takeover of more than 300 million pounds. Lets take a look at some realistic signings Newcastle United could have made if the takeover actually happened.

TAKEOVER FEE FOR TRANSFERS : £300 MILLION

Goalkeeper (GK) : Alban Lafont

Estimated Fee : £15 Million

The Nantes shot-stopper has impressed in the Ligue 1 in France this season. With Dubravka as a second choice keeper, Lafont would have led the team for years to come.

Centre-Back (CB) : Ethan Ampadu

Estimated Fee : £17 Million

The Welsh defender has been an important figure for Leipzig this season. With the current Newcastle defence in tatters, Ampadu would have been a great signing.

Centre-Back (CB) : Cristian Romero

Estimated Fee : £10 Million

The Argentinian defender from Genoa has made headlines after his critical performances in the Serie A this season. For a cheap fee of £10 million, Romero would have provided plenty of help.

Left Back (LB) : Sergio Reguilon

Estimated Fee : £20 Million

The Spanish full back has been a joy to watch in an otherwise disappointing season for Sevilla. After making the switch from Real Madrid for more game-time, Reguilon has established himself as one of the most coveted full backs in La Liga.

Right Back (RB) : Denzel Dumfries

Estimated Fee : £19 Million

The Dutch full back has developed himself as one of the best young full backs in Eredivisie(Dutch League). The 24 year old would have been the perfect solution to Newcastle’s full back situation. He would have been devastating to the opposition defence going forward.

Central Midfielder (CM) : Dennis Zakaria

Estimated Fee : £30 Million

The Swiss midfielder is considered one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga. His passing could have created fluidity in Newcastle’s attack as well as his defensive awareness would have caused problems for the opposition’s attack.

Central Midfielder (CM) : Lucas Paqueta

Estimated Fee : £20 Million

The 21 year old from Milan would undoubtedly fit into the current side. He has been sidelined by AC Milan manager Pioli and would have thrived in this team. Going forward, the Brazilian international could provide a lot of options.

Central Midfielder (CM) : Fabian Ruiz

Estimated Fee : £48 Million

The Spanish midfielder won’t come cheap but would be a great future investment considering he’s only 24. Fabian would have provided enough attacking as well as defensive cover for the team in case of a counter attack.

Right Winger (RW) : Ismaila Sarr

Estimated Fee : £25 Million

Since Watford have been relegated, Sarr would come pretty cheap and would provide heavy competition to Almiron. The Senegal born winger has been impressive for Watford this season and would have walked into the current Newcastle squad. A great investment for the future, indeed.

Centre Forward (CF) : Luka Jovic

Estimated Fee : £30 Million

The Serbian completed a £30 Million move to Real Madrid and has been a shadow of his former self. With Newcastle, the player could have revived his career and would have provided tough competition to Joelinton. This deal would have been an ideal bargain for years to come.

Left Winger (LW) : Leon Bailey

Estimated Fee : £45 Million

A perfect fee to sum up the immense potential of 22 year old Bailey. The Jamaican would have provided healthy competition to Saint-Maximin. He would have been the perfect player for Newcastle as he would have provided a lot of threat to the opposition defence.
