Kelleher made his Premier League debut for Liverpool during their 4–0 home win against Wolverhampton in December

The 22-year-old says he's determined to fight for more game time at Anfield after inking a new five-year deal that will see him commit to Liverpool for the long-term.

The Irishman enjoyed a fantastic last season, making five full starts for the Reds in the Premier League (2), Champions League (2) and the FA Cup (1), to cement himself as their number two ousting Spaniard Adrian.

After putting pen to paper, Kelleher admitted that he was delighted about staying with Liverpool for a few more years.

While the Ireland international has got all it takes to be Liverpool's default option as a goalkeeper, he'll have to contend with Reds first choice Alisson Becker for the prized spot.

Though that in itself is a daunting challenge for a young and inexperienced goalie his age, Kelleher admitted he's unafraid and pointed out that his last season appearances for Liverpool, particularly in the Champions League had boosted his game.

While it will take more than just a few Premier League and Champions League appearances and some decent saves to push Alisson down the pecking order, Kelleher says he's prepared to fight, and hopes things will turn out for the best.

Kelleher made his first senior team debut for the Reds in the 2019/20 EFL Cup and racked up four appearances in that campaign.
