Hakimi scored seven goals and registered eight assists for Inter Milan the last season.

Chelsea could lose race to sign defender Achraf Hakimi.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is on the lookout for reinforcements at the back ahead of the new season. Tuchel wants to bring in fresh legs in the wing-back position.

Hakimi fits the bill and Tuchel has identified the Moroccan as a perfect player for the role.

The 22-year has seen the value for his services rise significantly after a smashing last season display with Serie A winners Inter Milan.

Chelsea have reportedly tabled £51 million for the full-back. However, the European champions are now set to lose the race to sign him to Euro rivals and Ligue One giants PSG.

PSG now reportedly lead the race for Hakimi despite previous reports suggesting Chelsea could land the player after matching PSG initial £51 million for the 22-year-old.

They have already submitted an improved £59.8 million bid plus add-ons and are very optimistic Inter will approve.

What's more and a sad news for Chelsea is that PSG want this deal done by Sunday and already have plans in place for Hakimi to begin his medicals, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla—who has kept tabs on the defender.

Besides that, PSG are confident Hakimi will join them after he stated his interest to move to Paris and are believing that is enough to deal a final blow to Chelsea's chances of landing him this summer.
