After cementing his presence in the Rossoneri's defence — featuring 22 times for the Italian giants — and helping them secure a second place finish in the Italian Serie A, AC Milan have decided to scoop up the Chelsea lad and sign him on a permanent deal.

Milan didn't waste any time picking up the 23-year-old and triggering his £25 million release clause after he impressed on loan the last season from Chelsea.

According to Sky Sports, Tomori will move to the San Siro on July 1 after putting pen to paper a four-year deal.

The Chelsea defender spent the better half of the last campaign on loan at the San Siro after struggling to hold down his spot in the Blues backline under former Chelsea boss and club legend Frank Lampard. Tomori appeared just once under Lampard's tenure and struggled for game time until he was shipped on loan to AC Milan.

But it didn't take the English lad too long to seal a regular appearance under Rossoneri boss Stefano Pioli — ousting club captain Romagnoli from his spot in defence. However, it was Tomori's gallant display in Milan's shocking 3–0 away victory to heavyweights Juventus that capped the end of a wonderful loan spell in the Serie A. The centre-back clinched the third goal for Milan to seal a famous away win at Turin.

Tomori will stay at Milan until 2025 and will continue to wear the no. 23 jersey.

Milan qualified for the Champions League for the first time in 8 years and Tomori played a huge part in making that happen the last season. Milan in a released statement announced that they were "delighted" to have signed the Chelsea defender permanently.
