It's not the first time, though, that Juve have signalled their interest in the 28-year-old. Last summer, Pogba was linked with a return to Turin amid interest from Spanish side Real Madrid.

With Pogba at the top of Juve's summer shopping list, United face an uphill battle of not only keeping him at Old Trafford but finding his replacement. Even so, they have a far more pressing challenge on their hands. United's boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to strengthen the current squad and has identified three areas he's looking to add extra men — right-back, centre-back and central-midfield.

Though keeping Pogba will be top priority for the Manchester outfit, Tuttosport claims Juve is willing to offer Cristiano Ronaldo or Paulo Dybala in exchange for Pogba services—which on paper looks like a really sweet swap deal, particularly the return of former United star Ronaldo.

Ronaldo and Dybala have both had a challenging start to life in Italy with the former being touted with a move to join French champions Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Pogba joined United from Juventus in 2016 for a then world record transfer fee of 89 million pounds, having moved for a free to join the Italian side four years earlier. The 2018 World Cup winner has one year left on his current contract at Old Trafford.
