Here comes the new chapter of LaLiga's ambitious campaign to push the frontiers of national football towards the new markets. And It's starting to feel more like an another business saga with uncertain ending.

As you may know, LaLiga president Javier Tebas recently proposed a new ‘outdoor’ format for club football events and picked Girona-Barcelona fixture to be staged in Miami (Florida) in January 2019.

Unsurprisingly, opposition of such initiative came from multiple sources, including the notable ones such as Spanish FA, the player’s union and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. Recently FIFA joined the party as president Gianni Infantino confirmed the initiative will be blocked, who made a following statement during the FIFA Council meeting in Kigali:

I'm strongly opposed to this and I deny any permit to play the Girona-Barça game in Miami. Official games of a league must be played inside the country.

While Javier Tebas has signed a 15-year deal with US-based company, Spanish Federation’s boss Kuis Rubiales is looking to support Infantino – a decision which definitely will add the existing tension inside the Spanish football.

La Liga officials are looking to appeal against the decision:
