Zenit St. Petersburg retained their place in the 2018/19 Champions League campaign after historical comeback against Dinamo Minsk. Russian side – clean and clear favorites – sensationally lost the first leg in Minsk with 4 goals conceded and not single goal scored so before the return game most of pundits considered club’s chances as zero. Before the break even optimists believed that the team was doomed. But in second half and then in extra time Zenit made impossible comeback despite being 1 man down for almost 30 minutes of the game. Bloody brilliant game for Sergei Semak’s side who definitely have no lesser gut than Barcelona.

  • The game was played in from of empty stands because fans of Zenit faced with the temporary ban issued by UEFA for misbehavior
  • In the next round Zenit will face Molde. The first leg of game will be held on August 23rd, the second on August 30th
