I really don't know why bizzare things normally happen in South American football. It's either you see players beating up officials or aggrieved fans are actually the ones doing that
This kind of repulsive behaviour used to be very common with African football but in recent times, such behaviour has greatly reduced and the South American leagues seem to have taken the baton, especially the North and Central America, Mexico, Jamaica, Honduras, etc
Can we remember the one that happened recently? a referee who pulled out a gun to restore order during a football match after a controversial penalty decision?
It was reported that the unnamed ref brandished the pistol to protect himself from angry supporters who thought he should have awarded their side a penalty. He was aware of the type of spectators at the stands and he came prepared appropriately.
Things like this continue to happen in South American league and this gets me wondering if they don't have heavy sanctions for culprits
What exactly is the problem with South American football?
