Barcelona emerged 4-2 victors over Atletico Madrid in a Spanish La Liga encounter. After the game, manager Xavi Hernandez had some things to say about ATM boss Diego Simeone, but I and from Xavi's statement, he highlighted that himself and Simeone see the game of football differently hence their discrepancies.
Simone's initial statement
In a pre-match press conference, Atletico Madrid manager had some not so cool things to say about Xavi Hernandez as he made reference to a statement Xavi made some weeks ago highlighting that the style deployed by ATM was not for elite teams. In reply, Diego Simone insisted that Xavi now has the chance to show the world of football what he has to offer – his style. Hence, after Xavi got one better than Simeone, he concluded that both managers see the game differently.
Debut for Adama Traore
The game against Atletico Madrid was the re-debut of Barcelona winger Adama Traore. Traore had been with the Catalan giants alongside Neymar before moving on to the Premier League. With Wolves, Traore huffed and puffed but did not show anything too significant. Having zero assists in 20 games but in 20 minutes with Barcelona, he had already got himself an assist.
Barcelona didn't have a colorful season but they have been trying their best to restructure the team. The combination of Aubameyang, and Adama Traore will probably bring some life into Barcelona and we can only hope that Barcelona returns to their past glory
