The international career of a fantastic player has come to an end. Tonight Wesley Sneijder has played his final game for the Dutch National team. And what a career it was: 134 matches, in which he scored 31 goals.
In a match against Peru, in the 62th minute he was substituted while receiving a standing ovation from the supporters in a fully packed Johan Cruijff Arena.
Thank you Wesley for all the great moments. For all the times you took our national team by the hand. For giving us hope in hopeless matches. For being both a great player as well as a great person.
Farewell Wesley!
