Africa is a great continent blessed with so many natural resources; with milk and honey. The inhabitants are born with Talents.
When the name Africa is mentioned, memories are filled with pictures of many great events and personnels. A continent that has suffered many tribulations and is still experiencing trials, but that not withstanding. They still participate in so many Sport activities around the globe.
WHEN WILL THE WORLD-CUP COME TO AFRICA????
This is a question on every lips. So many times African countries have participated in the World-cup Tournaments, but no time has been said that an African team has gone to the quarter final not to talk of finals. And my question is what could be the problem?
Welcoming you to the world of sports in Africa, It is occupied with people of great interest in sports. Great footballers has been made from Africa, not only football also basket ball, boxing, athletes, tennis, karate, Taekwondo, and lots of other sports activities. Africa has made great players like;
Didier Drogba (Cote'd'ivor),
Samuel Eto'o(Cameroun),
Jay-Jay Okocha (Nigeria),
George Weah (Liberia),
Abedi Pele (Ghana),
Salif Keïta (Mali),
Larbi Benbarek (Morroco).
They are too numerous to mention.
Great Men and Women has been produced in Sports World from Africa, but lets see its Enormous challenge which is winning the world-cup.
THE WORLD-CUP TROPHY;
The world-cup was first held in 1930, when FIFA the governing body decided to organise Men's football tournament during the era of JULES RIMET. It's a tournament that comprises 32-national teams from the globe. The tournament is played every four years, by 32 teams from 6 federations.
SOUTH-AFRICA 2010, THE BEGINNING OF HOPE
In 2010, South-Africa hosted the first world cup in Africa. It was like a dream come true for the African continent. Harbouring many talented players and Big international teams from around the world. But the dream was cut shot when Spain Won and lifted the trophy after beating Netherlands by one goal to nothing, with a perfect finish from Andres Iniesta in the 116th Minute of the game.
NOW THE BIG QUESTION THAT SHOULD BE IN EVERY MIND IS;
WHEN WILL THE WORLD CUP TROPHY COME TO AFRICA?
WHICH COUNTRY WILL BRING IT HOME?
