Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo opened his first goal in the 2018 World Cup after being awarded a penalty in the third minute of the match.

Cristiano won his first penalty at the finals after trying to dodge his Real Madrid counterpart, Nacho Fernandez, who put his foot in front of the Portuguese.

Ronaldo's penalty kick is the second-fastest kick in the World Cup after Dutch side Robin van Persie's penalty kick against Brazil in 2014, when he scored in the third minute.
