This weekend MotoGP returns to the Assen celebrating the Nederland Grand Prix.
Today Friday there will be Free Practice in the morning and afternoon, tomorrow will host the qualifying run and Sunday the race.
Assen circuit is very well known by all the racers and it is considered the cathedral of the circuits as it was hosting races way before the world tournament started. It was Assen circuit, together with Man Island in Berna, Spa-Francorchamps, Belfast, and Monza, the ones which created the 1954 Speed world cup. But since then, Assen is the only one which has been included every year.
It was created as a 28km urban circuit around the towns of Borger, Schoonloo, and Grollo. Later it became a permanent circuit of 16.54km and, a year later it was reduced again to 7.7km. Right now after additional changes it has a final length of 4.542 km.
It will be a great race and a new chance to see if Marc Marquez can win the race after Jorge Lorenzo has managed to win the two previous ones with his Ducati.
