A total of 16 children selected as Junior NBA Indonesia All-Star 2018 which is the peak event National Training Camp at Pluit Village Mall, North Jakarta, Sunday (29/07/2018). The event was attended by NBA players who strengthened Boston Celtics, Jaylen Brown.
The selected players consist of eight sons and eight daughters. They will experience a unique NBA experience abroad along with Junior NBA All-Star from other countries in Southeast Asia in Shanghai, China, in October 2018.
One of the boys who was selected as the NBA All-Star Junior Indonesia, Harsha Yudhistira Abuthana, admitted to being unexpected and delighted with the success of being one of 16 lucky players. He feels his struggle for the last two years is not in vain.
"Two years ago I was in this event, but I was not selected, I tried again, with great training, continuous training, both physical and skill, the most important exercises, I was delighted to be finally elected," said Harsha, who admitted to starting practicing basketball since sitting in second grade elementary school.
With 15 other children he will fly to Shanghai, China, to meet Junior NBA from other Southeast Asian countries. They can also watch the NBA Global Games 2018 between the Dallas Mavericks against the Philadelphia 76ers.
"I will enjoy the experience in Shanghai, meet players from other countries, just work hard and enjoy," said Harsha.
Prior to the announcement of the selected players in Junior NBA Indonesia All Star, the National Training Camp Junior NBA Indonesia participants had the opportunity to interact with Jaylen Brown. Some children had the opportunity to ask the Boston Celtics shooting guard.
Players who strengthen Boston since 2016 also had time to play tips and tricks to play a good basketball. He also gave a question as well as a prize for the participants of the National Training Camp.
Junior activities of NBA Indonesia 2018 starts with Regional Selection Camp which takes place at Cilandak Sport Center on July 22nd. After that, as many as 60 young talented basketball players were selected to receive National Training Camp Junior NBA Indonesia tickets. Furthermore, they are selected again to be selected as many as 16 players.
