What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today we will talk about the Oklahoma City Thunder and the rumors that they made Steven Adams and others available for trade. Let's start!
The Oklahoma City Thunder has had enough of two consecutive years of disappointment and they believe that something has to change. Just like the Houston Rockets, the Thunder is looking to trade even their key players to make the team better for the next season. They already have 2 MVP-caliber players in Paul George and Russell Westbrook but it seems like something is still not right. And according to Jake Fischer of Sports Illustrated, the Thunder are putting Adams, Schroeder, and Roberson on the trade block.
Adams develop his game in Oklahoma City. He's now established himself as one of the better big men in the NBA today. He is a defensive minded big man that does not care about his stats as long as he's helping the team to win. Sure, the Oklahoma City fans love Steven Adams because of what he's already contributed for the franchise since he was drafted. Andre Roberson is a top-notch defender. He was very important for the team. In fact, when he was injured, OKC's defense has never been the same. And lastly, Dennis Schroeder. Dennis is an elite guard in my own opinion. He's a starter-caliber point guard and he can do more if he is not on the bench. He already proved that in Atlanta when the time Jeff Teague left, he took over and becomes their starting PG.
Those three players are very important. But if it means that the team will get better, why not take the risk? It will be difficult to let those three players go especially Adams. But, sometimes it's just the right decision that can make both parties better.
