What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today we will talk about the latest news and updates for the 2019 NBA Free Agency! Let's start!
It was a crazy day for NBA Fans all around the world. There are a lot of shocking signings and trades that happened on the first day of the 2019 NBA Draft. And for the Philadelphia 76ers, there are good and bad things that happened. They lost their best three-point shooter JJ Redick who signs with the New Orleans Pelicans. They also lost their best wing player, Jimmy Butler who signs with the Miami Heat.
However, one good news is, they were able to retain big man Tobias Harris. The 26-year old all-star forward will return to the Sixers signing a five-year $180 million max deal and will continue to help the Sixers to achieve their goals.
Tobias Harris is likely to play the 3 positions after the Sixers lost Jimmy Buckets. Harris is a great offensive player who can score inside and out. But, many are doubting his game because he is a no show in the playoffs this past season. He didn't bring huge impact for the Sixers in the post-season and it was Jimmy Butler who carried the team in their deep playoff run. People even say that Tobias is a little overrated and overpaid. Maybe he was overshadowed by Jimmy Butler and he has to lessen his role playing alongside Butler. So, next season, maybe he can step up when he gets more touches now that Jimmy Butler is gone.
