What's up basketball fans! I am here again @dwin0603 to give you another exciting basketball discussion for another episode of NBA Talk, and today we will talk about the latest news and updates for the 2019 offseason! Let's start!
One of the most underrated signings in the 2019 NBA Free Agency was DeAndre Jordan joining Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant signing with the Brooklyn Nets. After one season with the Dallas Mavericks and the New York Knicks combined, he decided to relocate to the Nets. And with that decision, many speculate that he signed with the Nets to create a new big three with Kyrie and KD. But, here is the real reason why he joined the Nets.
“Not to knock the culture the Knicks are creating, but we like what Kenny Atkinson’s doing and GM Sean Marks’s been awesome and the organization, from top to bottom, has been great, So you want to be a part of something like that, especially when you have a chance to play with other great players and build something,” Jordan said.
The past blockbuster trade a few years ago to get Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett, the Nets threw all their future assets away but their roster with Pierce and Garnett didn't work out. They didn't even reach the Finals and they were stuck in mediocrity.
But now, they are starting to rise again. Last year they made the playoffs led by D'Angelo Russell and now, they acquired two of the brightest stars in the league plus DJ who is one of the best defensive centers in the NBA. Jordan loves what the Nets organization is doing. They are heading in the right direction and he wanted to be a part of that. He wanted to help them win and will work hard to help the franchise. Let's see how far they can go next season.
That is all for today folks! I would love to hear your thoughts about this article, so drop your comments now and let's have some basketball talk. 😁
