NBA Asia Managing Director, Scott Levy, said the NBA Jr. program had a great mission and hope in Indonesia. Besides wanting to print Indonesian children into good basketball players, NBA Jr. also wants to encourage them to become better individuals.
"The NBA Jr. program has been implemented for the past five years to improve the health and fitness of players, especially children, and spread the core values of sport," said Scott Levy at the announcement of the NBA Indonesia All Star Jr. at Pluit Village Mall, North Jakarta , Sunday (07/29/2018).
According to Levy Jr. the NBA has reached 4 million children from various parts of Indonesia, parents and coaches. They have also conducted workshops for 10 thousand trainers.
"Congratulations to all the selected finalists. But, the most important thing is that all participants at the 2018 Jr. NBA Indonesia program learned about the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, being positive, and respecting fellow human beings," Levy said.
"After watching yesterday's match, I am proud that those values have been implemented. If these values are implemented in all things, to friends, family, community, and in all cities in Indonesia, the benefits are extraordinary. That's our goal "We want the younger siblings to be better players, but especially to be better personal," Levy said.
The Secretary of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Gatot S. Dewo Broto, was grateful for the consistency of the NBA Jr. program in Indonesia. He hopes that the program will produce reliable players from Indonesia.
