Superstars Comeback
Serena Williams
Former World number 1 Serena Williams, who took a break to give birth to her daughter returned to court at Roland Garros.
Remember that she gave birth to her first child and daughter Olympia on 1 September 2017 and since then her come back in early 2018 had been a stop-start affair. She targeted the defence of her Australian Open crown by January but was not fit to defend as she had some health issues.
Her WTA singles ranking stood at 451 before the the French Open.
In July Wimbledon cleared the way for her as she meant only two seeded players No.13 Julia Goerges in the semi finals and No. 11 Angelique Kerber in the final but unfortunately this time her chance to draw Margaret Court for the most slam titles of any tennis player in history was crippled.
In September all hope was broken yet again as she loose the US Open to 20 year old Japanese Noami Osaka in a controversial final in front of her home fans.
Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic won back-to-back Grand Slam titles for the first time since June 2016 in year 2018. But funny enough Djokovic began his 2018 season on a struggling note as injuries held him captive.
It was shocking to see Novak Djokovic who fell off from the top 20 was able to fight back and find his way back to the top as he won the Wimbledon and the U.S. Open in 2018, increasing his total career Grand Slam win to 14.
So it's does not depends on how well you begin but how well you end.
The Tiger returns
Tiger Woods officially started his 2018 PGA tour at the famers insurance open after a year long absence.
I believe this quote "Never give up" was all that keep Tiger Woods going all this years. The 42-year-old returned to the golf course in 2018 after undergoing four back surgeries, four knee surgeries and some off the course problems that put him in dark corner over the years.
September gave another star reasons to smile as Tiger Woods was decimating the small field at the Tour Championship to claim his 80th professional victory, ending a five-year winless drought.
