Not even a month ago, I was very excited for Sandeep Lamichhane (a Nepali cricketer) who was about to debut in a franchise cricket league in Australia known as Big Bash League (BBL). I was so excited that I spent hours in front of my computer searching for news on Sandeep’s debut.

I was so passionate about him playing in that league that I read all the news that were there on the first six pages of my google search. On the seventh page I found a post that took me to a page called Scorum.com. I read it and wanted to know more about the writer and I discovered Scorum blogging platform.

And, it took me almost a month to realize that members would normally post an introduction post right after they join the forum. I did not know until a fellow blogger @fraste suggested I should do one. Apologies that it took so long to figure this out but here I am, a month old Scorum member.

Hence, in this post I will also talk about what I have learned so far in this journey of writing things that I am passionate about.

I am Ramesh Adhikari originally from Nepal. I lived in a couple of different places while working for non governmental organizations until I got married and settled in Toronto. I am a policy professional working on international issues with a public sector organization. I do research, write notes and come up with policy solutions on topics that are interesting, and sometimes not so interesting.

I am not a professional athlete but love to play football, cricket and ping-pong. I am passionate about writing. If I can write and read about sports, tech and future innovations I don’t need anything else. I can be labelled a nerd, if that means reading weird sci-fi stories and liking all sci-fi movies even if they have IMDB ratings below 4.

My journey on the forum has been very eventful. I liked the concept behind this blogging platform as I can write, analyse and put my thoughts about the games I care. It’s a community of like-minded individuals where I can share my thoughts. The concept of getting to read articles from, and interact with people I never met and don’t know in person is so futuristic that I had to join the bandwagon.

During my journey of less than a month, I was able to meet creators like @fraste @talesfromthecrypt @lawlees @philnewton and @jpm8341. I also took part in the “Freaky Friday Contest” managed by @pete, which is an amazing initiative to support good content creators. I was also supported by @sport-frei through his “scorum-patronage”. There is so much positivity going around in this place, I am motivated to contribute to the forum and create more contents while enjoying reading articles from others.
