Polish Half Marathon Championship - "Piła Półmaraton"
Anyone who reads my running notes is already aware of the adventure that happened to me in my time in Walbrzych, and its consequences were a bit delayed on my next trip to Poland, but everything is in order. "Piła Półmaraton", so to speak, is one of those Polish half marathons that has international recognition. The half marathon route has the status of organizations such as AIMS, IAAF, PZLA. So I didn't even have other options, which would be my fifth half marathon on the way to the Polish Half Marathons Crown. The choice was obvious - it had to be Piła Półmaraton. Registration Registration takes place on the site of the half marathon, where you need to provide your contact details (name, phone number, email) and optionally the size of the T-shirt, and then pay for the starter pack. Road and city I decided to get to the starting point via Warsaw. I had to fly on Friday, although the calendar claimed that it was 6th number, not 13, but I got the impression that it was still "Friday 13". In the morning, preparing his backpack for the trip, it turned out that the insurance remained in Poland in Walbrzych. The search in the apartment of course gave no result, and there was no new time, so I had to fly without it and hope that it would be forgotten to ask when crossing the border. Since the airport was renovated in Kiev, I had to fly through Boryspil and I had to fly to Modlin Airport near Warsaw. I cannot say that Modlin Airport left me with a positive impression. However, from the Warsaw airports, I give greater priority to Chopin Airport because of its convenience. There were no problems how to get from Modlin (bus - train) to Warsaw. "ModlinBus" from 23:30 - 05:00 does not run, in addition, the train station "Modlin" from 00:00 - 05:00 is closed, and all passengers on it are asked to leave the station. Chopin Airport is located in Warsaw itself, so there are no such problems as to get there. The most interesting thing was waiting for me in the customs control zone in Poland. My experience about the insurance was not in vain: the frontier guard began to overwhelm me with all sorts of questions (purpose of arrival, where to go for a long time) and check various documents (tickets back, place of residence, availability of funds). There was only one thought in my head all the time: "Don't ask about insurance," so I especially couldn't stop getting nervous, but the border guard was doing everything to find out why I was nervous. However, after a long enough communication with the border, its regular stamp was received and could be exhaled with relief as soon as it left the customs control post. Further, my road lay to the town of Pili. Check-in started at 2:00 pm and the launch packages started at 3:00 pm, so I decided to get to know the city a little. The building of the city has a modern look. Google told me to visit a former train depot where I left as soon as I got off the train. This industrial facility was located near the station. But, frankly, I was not interested: first, it was fenced, and secondly, was in the territory of the current depot. After that, he hurriedly headed towards his hotel while enjoying the surrounding parks and the city itself. After a little rest in the room from the road and waiting for the arrival of Sergei, who was supposed to arrive in Pila at about 5 pm and met with him, we set off for our starter packs. Their dispensation took place in the gym of one of the schools, after which it was possible to visit a pasta party in the school from 17:00 to 19:00. After finishing our jogging business, we went for an evening stroll through the city. Run The half marathon started at 11 o'clock. Its route consists of one circle, which circulates the territory of the city and the route of which is completely asphalted. As for the start, together with Sergiy, we planned to start at the 1:40 pacemaker. Although I wanted more at 1:45 but it was only 1:40 and 1:50. Well, why not try to run again in 1:40. "Piła Półmaraton" had a significant feature for me: it is the first forbidden, where I left my running on the pulse, not the speed, as it was in the previous start before. The beginning of the northern rotation can be called confident, and then we saw that I was up to the mark of 10 km, meanwhile we will see that it rose to the mark of 180 strokes. Then I reiterated that the time had come when this was done to somehow reduce it. The second half of the half marathon was mostly in my fight against the pulse, to be exact, at first we clocked it up to 177 beats, and then slowed down to 130-150 beats. It was more like some intervals, not running. But the pulse of 180 beats and more did not frighten me. Well, everything wasn't going as well as we wanted, at least we were moving towards the finish line. Impression "Piła Półmaraton", as desired, left positive memories. Great organization, good track support. Well, for my part, running, like the "Kelty Goverla Race" at the time, opened a new page in my running history, and more specifically, new gadgets that I used in the running process. When I used to operate only at my own speed, it was nice to reduce the mileage. But now one of the key indicators is the pulse. When you see that all is not well with him, it is alarming. "Piła Półmaraton" demonstrated quite well that it was time to understand the aspects of pulse racing.
