Friday's 'Just The Tip'

There are some people in our community that play really good poker. I am not one of them. HOWEVER! I'm not that terrible and I do have a few ideas on how YOU can improve your game.

Let's start with a simple question... do you have a 'favorite hand'? Not like AA or QQ or anything valid like that, but some otherwise random combination of cards? For instance, my husband loved 76, and while a suited connector like that can be really valuable given position, pot size, etc etc, it's not a great hand every time. However, he would bet it every time, regardless of the situation and it ended up being a net negative. So my advice is, if you have a random 'favorite hand' like this, STOP IT. Just ... no. quit it. throw it away, muck it, it's not worth it I promise. Stick to the actual good cards and quit being so EMOTIONAL, sheez. ;)
