Scorum Coin which is abbreviated as SCR, is a liquid cryptocurrency which can be bought or sold at cryptocurrency exchanges or transferred to other users.
Currently, scorum fairly rewards active users with Scorum Power (SP) which can be converted to SCR.
The process of converting SP to SCR is known as power down, and it's given in percentage weekly till it's completely converted into SCR in 52 weeks.
Looking at the conversion during, 52 weeks equals 12 months, which is full a year! Surprised?
In my findings, a lot of users, especially does with extremely low payout are really suffering. How? These set of users daily, weekly or monthly source for funds to make data subscription, and at the end get virtually nothing out of the community. Imagine powering 100 sp down just to get some bucks for subscription and pay other bills. It'll take a week to earn 1.923 SCR which is about $0.57 (at 1 scr = $0.3). This is really pathetic and calls for great concern.
A quick scan through the community shows that the rich keep getting richer, while the little ones grow with little or nothing to give them joy as members of the community (especially when not connected with some whales) and when they're finally up there, and should be reaping, the value of crypto slides down (taking a look at sbd at present price, which was damn huge a year ago), I stand to be corrected.
It's so sad that if not for top/generous users like @pete, @bjempire, @ready2shine, @vlad, @fnemoto and a few others who go round to support the minnows, some minnows would have taken a bow out of the community, while some whales reap huge from the community with little or no efforts. Should we continue this way?
There's no doubt that quality contents pay, but I tell you the truth, some quality contents out there ain't paying due to lack of connections. Hence my special appeal at this point, "please let's be kind and generous, especially to the minnows. It takes only VP to do this, not SP. We show love by giving to those who can't really give much back to us (referring to amount of upvote), if we only upvote for those with huge SP because of our expectations of a huge upvote in return, we show no love.
However, my main concern is about the conversion of SP to SCR with take such a long duration. This during would be really appreciated and welcome if the reward system is as such adopted by steemit, where the payout is being divided into sp and scr. As I illustrated earlier, a user with 100 sp would have had 50 sp and 50 scr, if the reward was divided into sp and scr at 50/50%. Thus, giving the user the freedom of either converting the 50 scr to sp or selling it for his/her up-keep.
A lot of users have long been anticipating this payout out method, I've come across comments conveying this kind of message each time the community update is expected. The method gives the user choices to make as regarding his reward, whether the rewards should be declined, paid at 50% each to sp or sbd, or paid 100% to sp. This system of reward is quite commendable. Presently, it's only the whales that when power down, really have something tangible. Thus, I call on scorum Admins, to kindly look into this, as the minnows are suffering, sourcing funds elsewhere to subscribe just to stay active on scorum. It'll help the minnows to have something for themselves, to say yes, our efforts really paid.
In summary, the little piece above, called on the community members to gleefully support each other, in spite of connections and/or sp. It also called on the Admins to kindly consider giving users the option of declining their payout, accepting it at 50% each to sp and scr, or accept it at 100% payout to sp.
It's my candy opinion, I stand to be corrected.
