The scorum platform is a conglomeration of seasoned writers, intellectuals and sports enthusiasts from all over the world. It also plays host to technocrats and professionals from different fields, in fact, that's normal in almost all blochchain inclined social platforms.

It's expected that users exude or display to a large extent, some reasonable standards of behaviour that befits the platform, bearing in mind the caliber of personalities that constitute the audience.

"Regard your good name as the richest jewel you can possibly be possessed of -- for credit is like fire; when once you have kindled it you may easily preserve it, but if you once extinguish it, you will find it an arduous task to rekindle it again. The way to a good reputation is to endeavor to be what you desire to appear." __Socrates

Just like the normal real world society, words, actions or even your posture on the platform is being watched and observed. You may be surprise, but that's the blur truth. It's even more grave to lose your reputation here than the outside world.

Outside there, you're likely to see people that will walk up to you to caution you privately, I doubt how many persons will have the patience to do you that favour on the internet, especially on platforms like this that everyone is bent on seeing it grow. You sure don't wanna be the sacrificial lamb or specimen for others to learn from.

Our darling platform is just few months old, and am already noticing glimpses of verbal belligerency or non diplomacy from some of the big guys. And most times from my observations, this verbal attack is not being directed to the post, nor the criticism favorable to the general health of the platform.

Most of these altercations stem from personal strife that its origin cannot be traced to The Scorum platform, maybe its being carried over from other platform. I just hope we don't start the kind of cyber war I witnessed on Steemit here. Maybe Scorum team should start setting up "Scorum panel of Arbitration" to tackle such issues when they come up.

Some Actions That Can Kill Your Reputation:

There is no doubt that some actions, words, dispositions or our posture generally can go a long way to demean our worth or status on the platform. Funny enough, Sometimes we may exude them with an honest intention, not knowing we have crossed the Rubicon.

I don't think anyone will intentionally wanna get into the wrong records, however, you may just find yourself trying to wriggle out of your stained reputation, if you're not meticulous.

Take note of some of these landmines as you navigate your way through the labyrinth of the scorum ecosystem, it will help you know when to apply the breaks.

Plagiarism:

This seems to be at the forefron, as many scorum users have been found wanting of this proscribed act. Copying people's work without given them credit, is an act of intellectual theft, and it's a crime in most jurisdictions (if not all the world).

If this can kill your reputation faster than you think if caught. They is a high possibility that you will never regain that writing confidence again with that particular account.

It wouldn't matter if you're a first offender, because it's assumed that you've attained an average level of intelligence before signing up. The earlier you stay away from Plagiarism, the better.

Abusive Or Unreasonable Comments:

As simple as it is to make comments, I've noticed that not so many users know that the comments they make on posts travel faster to speak about their personality than they could imagine.

Comments like "nice post, wow... thanks, beautiful post" and so on projects you as a spammer, and that's not good for your image on the platform. Don't pretend to have read a post, when you didn't, people are smarter than you think. It will be more honourable to upvote the post and then flip to the next post.

On the other hand, you're advised to comment within the bounds of diplomacy and friendliness. Attacking someone's personality instead of constructively criticising the post in question is a step in the wrong direction.

You shouldn't attack people's religion, race or their political inclinations because it doesn't reflect your view. These kind of comments are perceived as derogatory, and it will go in no slow pace to drastically show how uncivilized you are. Comment with Respect.

Low Quality Posts:

I've observed keenly some users that drop posts that looks like a WhatsApp status, or post sports pictures without writing anything as to what they signify or mean.

Low quality posts is a reputation strangler. No one is gonna stop by your blog to go through your work, because they already perceived you as a lazy user.

If you wanna get the right audience to follow your blog and also upvote you, then you've to work for it by creating qualitative posts on your blog.

You mustn't post everyday, because most times, some users feel they can make more Money by posting every now and then. And this push many into cooking haphazard posts just to meet up. If you can't do it, don't force yourself. Good reputation is far worth more than rubies.

Begging For Upvotes:

This mostly emanates from the new users, who probably doesn't know or were not well informed on how the platform operates. Sending people unsolicited links of your posts in an intrusion into their privacy, and they won't see you in a good light.

Create value through your posts. Get engaged and interactive on other people's blog, that's the best way to project the value embedded in you.

If you're not getting upvotes on your posts, then try to access yourself again, it's possible there is something you're doing. Discover it and right your wrongs.

Repercussions or Consequences:

Those who falter or are found wanting of the above listed Reputation assassins are meant to face some punitive measures, be it directly or indirectly. Some of them are listed below:

*You can get flagged.

*You can lose your Followers.

*Reduces subsequent upvotes on your posts.

*It can put you on the jaws of discrimination.

*Most People Will Stop reading your posts.

So I implore us to stay away from all the above mentioned unethical dispositions on the scorum platform.

THANKS FOR READING.
