I thought I'd write this post to demonstrate to new writers with little or no SP or influence how it's not all about scratching people's backs and behind the scenes handshakes when it comes to earning good SP on the Scorum blog. Sure on occasions some writers with substantial SP volumes don't go outside their own circles to upvote other peoples work so much but then again some actually do too. Bear in mind if it was so easy to earn on Scorum - something would also be wrong with the system! The blogging platform needs to be competitive in order to help increase the quality of peoples work.

Does this mean that the current system is perfect? Absolutely not but then again no system is and where some people write brilliant work and earn very little and others write what I would deem mediocre work in comparison to the former mentioned group of writers there is still opportunity to get ahead here from the start.

So without further a do, here are 5 writers I have up-voted regularly simply because I love their work, some of who started out with very little...

@talesfrmthecrypt first made me aware of Eoghan's work a while back. His style of writing is incredibly unique on the platform and the level of detail and personal thought he puts into his pieces is incredible. They mainly focus around football and he is a real credit to this platform. Indeed I even gave him a chunky vote on one of his posts I wasn't too keen on because afterall you don't have to agree with someone's opinion to still appreciate their way of articulating a point of view!

Never Compromise on Quality: This guy is the perfect demonstration of how a Scorum writer should write and persevere with quality. If you check his first 4-5 posts, he wrote some beautiful articles but earned virtually nothing for them because no one knew of him - things take time regardless of how much you shout out to individuals and groups.

Did he moan and cry about not earning SP at first? Did he start to cut short his work and write shallow tidbits of regurgitated news already posted on other websites? No! He kept writing to the same standard and since then he now earns considerable SP on each of his posts. He undoubtedly deserves to earn even more due to the level of quality of his writing so I hope he keeps posting regularly and gains more supporters.

Before he was within the group I am part of @talesfrmthecrypt spent a considerable amount of time on his own. But I just loved the level of depth and analysis he was putting into his cricket articles. For me cricket is something you go watch as an excuse to drink beer in England - that is my level of fondness for the game. Still it didn't stop me marvelling at this guys work and the sheer effort he puts into his posts. He has done so much for Scorum already combating plagiarism and spam in addition to his writing, he's a major contributor in more ways than one and definitely worth following and voting for.

Someone who is relatively new to me more so than probably many others who are familar with his work @broncofan99 covers American football, again a sport I have little fondness for but one I can still appreciate for it's skill and strategy. He writes varied articles on the NFL and I have started chucking votes his way. He's never shy on detail and whilst detail isn't everything, everything he does say has a purpose to it. I particularly enjoyed his article on Snowflakes in Sports.

Mr Clements has started to breathe life into the platform with his new Pokepod podcasts covering Pokemon games. It's a tough market to crack as their are tonnes of Pokemon fan based sites out there with guides on Pokemon but with the support of Scorum he can succeed. With high competition comes high demand so even if you get a small slice of the Pokemon fan market it can prove very profitable and give Scorum more exposure into a gaming brand that is adored by tens of millions. He also produces written guides here on Scorum for the most recent game for the Nintendo Switch - Pokémon: Let's Go. Follow Devon and give him your support in developing his Pokemon series here on Scorum.

Finally I do support other writers outside my circle but I didn't want to list too many in particular to then write about them in a context where I claim to support them as heavily as I have done with the above ones of late. Please feel free to shout out other writers I may have overlooked who are regular posters on Scorum. I have a few more new ones on my list but they haven't posted that frequently of late.
