After posting an update on the cut-off for the upcoming 1.6x bonus for content creators on Scorum yesterday, I was contacted by the team's Community Manager Olha Ivanytsia. She politely pointed out that the cut-off has been changed in order for writers to take advantage of the entire month of July before the bonus is paid out.

I promised to drain my voting power to help others take full advantage of the bonus on the 24th (today), and since several others said they would do this as well, I felt that I needed to publish this as soon as I learned the full details.

Sorry for the confusion. Hopefully tihs will be the last bonus update until the amazing day that we all receive the fantastic bonus this team is giving us.

The Deadline

The cut-off for the bonus will be August 1 at noon (12:00 PM) GMT. For me in Illinois (CDT), this means that I can publish a post until just before 7:00 AM on August 1, and the post will still qualify for the bonus reward. Use this time converter to know what time the cut-off will take effect in your timezone.

All of your posts made before this time (August 1 12:00 PM GMT) will be paid out before the final bonus payout and qualify for the bonus.

The Bonus Amount

There was some confusion as to the actual bonus amount. I was correct in saying that if you have earned 1,000 Scorum Power from posts that were published before the cut-off deadline, you will receive a 60% bonus, meaning you will be given 600 Scorum Power and your new total will be 1,600.

Bonus Payout

The bonus payout will not occur on August 1. Instead, the payout will be made on 8/8 to give us all time to receive rewards from posts made until the cut-off date.

What Does This Mean?

Well my Scorum friends, this is good news. We all now have a full extra week to publish posts and earn an additional 60% in rewards on them. Keep on publishing quality posts! I will be on the lookout for great content and will upvote freely over this next week. As promised, I will drain my voting power to reward good posts this week.

Sorry once again for any confusion I may have caused. Thank you to the Scorum team for setting me straight. Now let's get writing!
