Scorum has turned to be a platform of solace for a lot of people who were looking for a place to build their personal brand and get rewarded for the value that they provide for others.
Majority of people on this platform has had experiences on other Blockchain powered platforms that caused them to leave.
Scorum was built with Sports Fans in mind, it is a place that is meant to be the abode of Sports fan who want to earn a kind of reward for their passion.
Majority of people on this platform who are active sports fans know how the typical game viewing is like, there is a lot of back and forth talks and depending on the Location, engagement is always at its peak.
I am someone who believes that for this Scorum community to grow that the culture of this platform needs to be built around genuine engagement and not just making posts and boosting it artificially.
I am writing this post because I opened Scorum right now and I saw a post by a voting bot service which was just launched.
While it may look like a noble cause, I believe that Introducing an Upvote bot will cause people to become Lazy over time and it will pave way for bid bot voting services that may affect the level of engagement on this platform.
Now there are obviously good bots out there, not all bots are bad, a good example is the plagiarism bot which is currently in use for the screening of the content posted on this platform.
Upvote bots can help new users get more views, but the cons far outweigh the pros.
If we enter the era of bid bots then the great writers on this platform will get frustrated and forced to post low-quality content because people who will not put in much effort will end up earning more than them.
I have always said it that the Moment low-quality posts consistently start earning more than top quality post then that will be the beginning of the end for Scorum.
I hope we take the best decisions that will ensure the longevity of this platform.
