Hello to all beginners at Scorum platform and welcome to this outstanding community. 

This is the place where blockchain technology intersect sports, the place where you can be truly rewarded for your writing skills. You can also be rewarded by commenting or curating other peoples articles. Scorum has been launched about month ago, so a lot of its features are not available yet, but it would be in the near future. Things like, betting exchange, advertising platform, fantasy manager (currently operative) where you can also be rewarded. There is no doubt that Scorum will become huge after this things gets implemented and this is right time to join!

A lot of newcomers to Scorum ask similar questions like :

  • How to write a post?
  • How to insert image to post?
  • What is this lightning mark stands for?

and other basic things like mentioned above. So I decided to write simple and easy understanding guide for beginners.

Home Page

Home Page

Home page is first thing you see when you log in to Scorum. It shows you articles that are in Hot, Trending or New category. You can quickly be updated what is currently going on at platform. You can also choose articles by soccer category or whatever sport you like. Select desired article, read it or if you really like it, curate it and express your  thoughts by leaving a comment. You can follow user who wrote it if you want to read more of  his/her articles. This is a great way to engage with the community and make some friends.

Navigation Bar, is placed at the top of your Scorum page. You can easily navigate through sport categories by selecting them, and get news and articles you like. If you are soccer fan like me, than just select soccer category and all soccer related articles will pop out in front of you. Of course, there is also hot, trending and new category. 

Scorum Tokens, Scorum Power and Voting Power

Wallet Status

You can see your wallet status in the right top corner of the navigation bar. How much you have Scorum tokens, Scorum Power and Voting Power. This is very important parameters on this platform. 

Scorum Tokens (SCR) are used to buy Scorum Power or exchange them on the crypto currency exchange for other crypto currencies. You will be able to convert Scorum Power to Scorum Tokens in the near future.

Scorum Power (SP)can be used only inside Scorum platform. The more Scorum Power you have:

  • you have larger share of the reward pool
  • your vote is bigger
  • your impact on the network is bigger

Voting Power (VP) is parameter which determines with how much Scorum Power you will curate somebody article. The maximum Voting Power value is equal to the user’s current amount of Scorum Power. With each vote, up to 5% of the remaining Voting Power is spent. The more often the user votes, the less power each vote has as VP does not have enough time to recover.

Write Your First Article

Now is time for you to write your first article. To do this you must open text editor. Select your profile picture in the right upper cornet on the navigation bar and select Write New Post. Text editor is very easy for use, you can also input a video or image. With platform development more tools will be available.

Publishing Your First Article

You wrote your first article and now is time to publish it. In the right upper corner of the text editor you have publish button. By selecting it, drop menu will pop out. It looks like this :

So, first of all you need to select a category where article will be published. If is a soccer article the select soccer category. If is article similar like this then select other or Scorum category. You will also need tags. You can add 5 tags at most. Tags are useful weapon, so that people can easily find your article. When you done all of this, just select Publish and that's it. Your article is live now. Also you can Save as Draft so that you can edit your post later on.
