When we reach mass adoption we’ll all be millionaires. That’s right millionaires! We’ll have property across the world, yachts, private airplanes, flunkies at our beck and call and of course the obligatory lambo that marks you as a success in the world of crypto. At least that’s what we are all sitting here hoping will happen but how exactly will this wonderful future come to pass?
Some will argue that we need to be on more high profile exchanges to drive liquidity of the token, others will claim that better SEO is required so that we can be found in the first place, whereas yet more users will argue that a greater emphasis be put on marketing so that people understand what the hell this “Scrotum” place is all about. There is nothing wrong with these points, they along with the Dev team’s ability to deliver on the ambitious nature of the project will largely determine whether the platform reaches it’s potential.
However, beyond just getting more users onto the platform in the first place, the ultimate success or failure of the project will depend on how many of those new users can achieve what they set out to when they first joined Scorum. This isn’t a revolutionary business technique, it’s common sense, if you are spending time, money and effort on getting people through your doors then you want to ensure that they enjoy themselves and in doing so that they return to the site over and over again. Once more, the Dev team has some responsibility here in ensuring that the user interface and overall feel of the site is as slick as it can be but in reality, I also believe that we, the users of Scorum will be the ones who ultimately determine whether we offer a great experience to newcomers. After all, it is our upvotes and comments that establish the best articles and encourage those writers who put in the effort to continue to create stimulating blogs.
That being said, most of us here will have struggled at one point or another to get our work noticed, whether that is here on Scorum or on another platform that shall not be named. Therefore, it is important that those of us who have managed to establish at least a foothold on this platform, help to pull others up the ever steepening rock face to where they too feel they have a stake in this community worth writing for. If we can consistently ensure that new users who deserve recognition for their work are given our support then the path to mass adoption becomes significantly easier.
There have been some excellent ideas from users like @pete who has developed several schemes to help new writers showcase their talent. There are also curation groups such as @scroum-fans and @liuke96player's Golden Thunder that I can attest to being of great help in giving you the leg up that you need when you first join the platform. And yet, I still think that individual users could do more to help promote the excellent work of contributors who might be struggling for a bit of visibility on the platform. As such I am proposing a new challenge for all pro-level users to enter into. It goes like this .............
The Concept
The basic idea is that on a fortnightly basis any user who has achieved “pro-level” i.e. has 1000 SP or more can nominate another Scorum user they wish to support who is yet to become a “pro” member i.e. a user with less than 1000 SP
In declaring their support for that member, the pro-level user will have entered themselves and the other user into a competition to win 30SCR (15 SCR each).
The winners of the SCR will be the non-pro user who has the most genuine comments (excluding comments from the nominee and nominator) on their blog after 2 weeks. They alongside the person who nominated them will receive 15SCR each
How do I go about ensuring my nominee gets the most comments on their blog?
Well that is up to you but if you want a few initial ideas you could
- upvote their posts for greater visibility
- introduce them to other community members who you think might value their posts
- offer to upvote comments that appear on their posts
- pick a user you know produces decent and engaging content
The choice is yours! Maybe just that very act of nominating them will be the catalyst their blog needs to gain greater interaction?
How do I enter?
- To nominate someone you must be a “pro-level” user
- The person you nominate must not have reached “pro-level” user at the point you nominate them
- Only 1 nomination per user
- No duplicate nominations, once a user has been nominated for that 2 weeks, they can’t be nominated again by someone else
- You can nominate someone at any time during the 2 week period but only the comments on the posts they make after your nomination will count
.

As a pro-level user myself I will also be making a nomination and I’m going for @austino
