SCR Poker on BRO Sports

I'd like to answer some questions that I've been asked recently, after posting about creating a poker site for Scorum.

Currently I run a poker site that pays out in SBD (Steem Backed Dollars) with the help of @bethalea and donations from many kind players and Steem Witnesses. What I plan to do is purchase everything necessary to setup a second poker server where we will host freeroll poker tournaments that will payout in Scorum (SCR).

To accomplish this I've requested the help of @shaunmza to modify our current batch payment tool for Steem to work with the Scorum blockchain. I'm not aware of anything like SteemConnect being available for Scorum at this time, but if it is we plan on using it as well.

One thing we take pride in on Lucksacks is our player selection. We are very careful with who we let in and four of us have personally vetted all 1,100+ accounts. With the new site where we will host Scorum Freeroll poker tournaments and free betting games, we will use the same criteria for selecting new players.

New players must be active bloggers with a good reputation and in some rare cases we will require a little more "proof of individual" to prevent sockpuppet accounts on our site. We have only had a few instances of players defeating our selection process, with a lot of time and dedication on their part, which ultimately proved futile.

BRO Sports

On the new site, which will be part of the BRO Sports Network with @ats-david, we will also have the same strict player acceptance policy in an effort to thwart sockpuppet accounts.

Status

Here's a rough outline of where we are on the new site ...

  • Web Server (Purchased)
  • Poker Server (Raising Funds / Purchased!)
  • Web Development (Under Construction)

Model

The basic model will be a "freemium" model, where everything is free to play and you win Scorum (SCR) or other tokens depending upon the game. There will be upgrade features that can be purchased with SCR (and other tokens) to enhance your profile and/or game play. More details to come on all of that.

Mail Bag

One of the most asked questions has been, "What will happen to Lucksacks?".

And the answer is ... nothing will change. Lucksacks is where the Steem Poker League lives and as long as it can support itself, that will continue until it no longer is able to.

The second most asked question is, "Will there be Steem tournaments on the new site?".

There will be free Sports Betting games for both Scorum (SCR) and Steem. On the poker side of things it will be mostly all Scorum payouts with special Steem tournaments for promotions.

That is the plan now. If things change with Lucksacks down the road, then we can deal with that then; but I do not anticipate there being an issue supporting Lucksacks SPL considering how well the SPL Community has embraced the new Lucksack Token donations. Thank you all!

And the third most asked question is, "Will our Lucksack accounts be transferred over to the new site?".

This is something that I need to think on longer, but my current view is that I will likely bring over the core group of people to make sure they are able to get on and play quickly to get the new site active as fast as possible.

I cannot guarantee this will be my final decision. We're dealing with a fresh database and imports, as you all at Lucksacks know, do not always go as planned for one reason or another. It bring some hazards with it if someone makes a mistake or something goes awry.

Final Thoughts

I'm really looking forward to starting this venture with the Scorum Community and my friends @bethalea, @ats-david, @internetguy and everyone from Lucksacks. Thank you all for your support and participation!
