Today I purchased the poker server license for the Scorum Poker League. The server is now up and ready for some private testing prior to merging it into the BRO Sports suite of free sports betting games.

The colors are not great (I'm a little color blind I think), so I'm going to get a little help with the color scheme. For my first attempt, it will work though. I tried matching the blue on the Scorum.com site as best as I could.

** Under Construction - Site may appear closer to completion than it is! **

If anyone knows the RGB values for the official Scorum color please let me know in the comments section!

Domain

While we wait on BRO Sports website to be built, I went ahead and picked up a catchy domain name for the poker site to use so that I can easily test and give everyone an easier URL to remember.

Oh, you want to know what it is? Well, that's going to have to wait. It's still propagating and I'm not exactly ready to test with others just yet. Give me a few days to work out the major kinks and make sure I have things setup properly and then I will invite a few people to play in some test tournaments.

Testing 1 ... 2 ... 3

Even though there's still a lot of work to do, as far as Scorum Poker goes, once I get the SSL setup we can start bringing more users on to test and start winning some Scorum!

** Under Construction - But almost done, but not yet! **

I'm hoping that I can convince some of our Steem Hosts to come over to Scorum to hosts as well, but I'm not relying on that. I plan on doing what I wish I had done with the Steem Poker League this time around.

One reason I loaded up on SCR was to upvote my posts to secure funding for the poker server license, hosting, development and to fund Freeroll poker tournaments. On the Steem platform there simply wasn't enough support from others on my posts to use the funds for freerolls, much less pay the bills on the sites development and hosting costs.

On Scorum I shouldn't have this problem since I can now fund these costs myself for The League. However we will still need others to hosts games as well, since I'm not sure I can generate enough funds with posts to cover all the costs to run the league and fund more than a few freerolls at a time.

Where You Come In

And this is where you, the Scorum Community, come in! To make this work we will need your help boosting support for the league on the platform, and helping in any way you can by providing any skill you have (art, coding, marketing, etc) to The League.

Get in the pot with us!

We will compensate anyone willing to help in some way with SCR, upvotes, barter or any terms agreed to by both parties. Below are some of the areas I found the most difficult to find help with on the Steem platform.

  • Development

    • Finding any documentation on how to work with the Steem blockchain, even the API, was a nightmare. Point blank asking the CEO of Steemit wasn't much help either, he could only admit that things were a mess. So if you can help in this area when it comes to Scorum, please let us know!
    • Finding a developer that was available much less knowledgeable on the Steem blockchain was near impossible for months. So if you're a developer that's worked with Scorum and have some free time, please let me know in the comments below.
    • We will need to create a front end with a session key login, tie that database to the poker servers and the BRO Sports games. So this is going to be a chore once that integration begins with the other areas of the site.

  • Artwork

    • One thing that I found difficult when dealing with graphics artist was the amount of them that would send me copyright protected images with our logo slapped on top and think that was acceptable.
    • We cannot use images that are owned and protected by others. So if we ever ask for artwork, we need original content. If you can provide original graphics content, please let me know in the comments below.

  • Moderators

    • Our chat is pretty nice, if I say so myself. The problem we have is that we don't have enough moderators and end up relying on the bots most times to handle things. This is fine most times, but we really need someone that knows Discord well and knows how to moderate a lively crowd in chat.
    • Myself and @bethalea handle the chat for the most part, and it's simply too much work on the two of us. We both have real world jobs, I run my own online business, she has 3 kids, so it's a lot to deal with on a daily basis with over 1,100 players. So if you can fill a Moderator spot please let me know in chat below!

That's All Folks!

I hope that wasn't too much to read and that I provided enough useful information to justify your upvotes! It's all going into building this site for the Scorum Community so we really appreciate all the help we can get, thank you for reading!

I'm going to gamble and not proof-read this ... wish me luck! =)
