Saturday was somewhat of a missed chance on the Zulte-Waregem match. I was about to get in big on the team total over but the goal came just a minute too early. I'm still up a couple of units on the week and hope to expand on that today. I'm slowly increasing my stakes a bit again but will remain rather cautious.
Standard vs Anderlecht
Standard has not been all that convincing as of late but still managed to take the needed points. Both Mpoku and Carcela are suspended for this match while Oulare is still injured. Anderlecht last week played very defensively as if the only thing they cared about was to keep a clean sheet. The contrast often is huge with the vision of Kompany. last week there was an open letter from the board outlining the vision for the future which stated that they aim to bring attractive football and be competitive again for the title in 3 years. I'm expecting a similar approach of putting defense first today but also consider it could be the complete opposite approach. It kind of worked last week against Charleroi and would not be surprised whatsoever if they took at least a point in Standard today. The home team did have to play on Thursday and is missing some players. I never really shy away from taking pre-game positions on unders and Underdogs hedging out live if needed and that's what I did also for this match. I took some Anderlecht +0.5 @ 2.05 | 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.20 | Under 2.75 @ 1.840 and will see how it all goes.
Club Brugge vs Kv Mechelen
The story of Club Brugge is that they have a great team that tops pretty much all the statistics, yet they systematically fail to cover their given handicaps. Today it is set at -1.75 against Mechelen who tends to perform better on the road. In their last away match they played very defensively and did not manage to create all that much themselves. Club Brugge currently has an efficiency problem and it could take a while for them to break through the Mechelen Defense. Mechelen will be near complete while Club Brugge will be without Diatta (Important). Overall I see Mechelen as a team that simply is not good enough in matches like this, but at the same time, I don't trust Club Brugge to get the job done and cover the handicap. I will be looking to get in on the Home team if they show very dominant, get to a point where odds reach -1.5 @ 2.2+ or if they fall behind. No pre-Game Bets
Oostende vs AA Gent
AA Gent is one of the best teams in the league right now and has a lot of scoring power. David still is not back but Bezus who replaces him plays at a high level currently. Oostende is not as bad as they used to be last month but still doesn't seem to be able to get the results as they deserved more than a 1-0 loss last week against Eupen. The only real betting option for me is to take the visitors but I never take 1.6 type away odds or higher handicaps pre-game. I did get a small bet in on some AA Gent Team Total Over 1.75 @ 1.78 as Oostende is not the team to easily keep a clean sheet while AA Gent has the potential to score like it's nothing scoring 2 goals at least in their last 4 league away games. My eye live will be on the over and the favorite.
