Friday Started of good with some profit on Club brugge who won 3-0 against Kv Kortrijk despite not really pushing for a big score win. One of the things I have done for many years is keep manual notes writing down thing to remember during each of the matches including a lot of potential betting angles for future matches. The Belgian League Schedule allows to watch 6 of 8 matches fully without any kind of disctraction. These previews will include a lot of the notes I'm taking on each match.
Standard vs Cercle Brugge
This is one of those matches with conflicting angles. Teams who are inbetween Europe Qualifying matches tend to underperform in league matches while promoted teams usually have a very hard time in their away matches against top teams. Key player Carcela who got a red card last week will be allowed to play. These kind of players are highly important of often make all the difference for a team. It is not sure yet if Standard will field their A-squad. They played 2-2 at home agains Ajax and surely will have their minds on that match aswel. Cercle seems to have enough quality in their team. For what it looks like right now their plan will be to play more closed matches aiming to take a point away against better teams and go for the full win at home against opponents of their level. If I was forced to pick a side it would be Cerle Brugge +1.25 , but there is no need to get invoved pre-game in this one. I will be keeping an eye out to oppose Standard in case they have a healthy lead at half time because they will likely take it much slower in the 2nd half with their eye on the more important match on Wednesday
Sint-Truiden vs Lokeren
Stvv so far played a rather poor match at home against Cercle and were extremely lucky to get away with a 0-0 against Racing Genk. They were a team with low scoring matches and this pattern seems to continue. Lokeren lost both of their matches and similar to last season seem to play better when they are behind somehow. Their objective was to keep the ball in the team last week against Cercle Brugge but an early goal messed that up. The match against Genk (0-4) can not really been taken as a reference because Genk just played too good. My lean goes out to the under and the underdog. I would not be surprised if this one turned out in a match where the fear to lose is bigger than the will to win for both teams. This is often the case and brings sloppy nervous matches with poor quality especially during the 1st half. I took some on the 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.11. For live betting this seems like one of those matches to bet on the team that gets behind.
Zulte-Waregem vs Eupen
The home team has been unlucky in their first 2 matches which both ended in a draw. They seem to have a solid team this year that should fight for play-off 1. For now, important defender Derijck is still with them but he might leave the team before the transfer window closes. This might have an influence on future over/under bets. Eupen similar to last 2 seasons took a horrible start. When coach Makelele took over last season he completely switched the offensive approach to a defensive approach. Right now things seem to have turned again getting 9 goals against in the first 2 matches. This might be due because only Blondelle is left in defense compared to last season. I have not taken any position yet, but will be looking out live to take Zulte-Waregem, the over and maybe the corners over also depending on how it plays out and what odds are offered. Late overs will also be high on my list and if it is a boring 1st half I will likely take the 2nd Half over if odds got overly adjusted based on play. If I was forced to take anything now it would pobably be something with very high odds like Zulte-Waregem -2 or Over 4.
Moeskroen vs Antwerp
Antwerp took a solid start and seem like a more open playing team this season. The main issue seems to be the lack in finishing power. Also near the end of the match against kortrijk which they dominated they were unable to keep it up. Moeskroen is getting into a pattern where they play a good first half while not being able to keep it up in the 2nd half. This is one of those matches I don't yet have any kind of read on yet. Antwerp are on my list of teams to back but not as a clear favorite in an away game. I will see what it brings live and have the Moeskroen 1H and Antwerp 2H options in the back of my head based on the scoreline.
Late info might change my view on what is written in these previews.
