The Europa League match yesterday played out exactly as planned with Racing Genk continue on their good form starting the match to score early resulting in a 0-2 Half Time Score. They mainly conserved energy afterwards in the 2nd half.
We are 3 weeks into the league right now and teams are slowly starting to show what they are really capable of. This also means that it gets increasingly hard to find pre-game value on any bets. The asian market mechanics tend to be really sharp when it comes down to setting lines and odds. This makes it all a game of small margins grinding out some profit over time often ending up with pure coin flip bets.
Anderlecht vs Moeskroen
This is one of those straightforward matches where everyone expects the Home team to win easy including myself. The main question though is where to draw the line for the handicap to the point where it has good enough value. Typically in matches like this I set this at around -1.5 @ 1.8+ (Line at this moment is -1.75 @ 1.80) Moeskroen played a bad match at home against Antwerp last week not being able to create a single chance. It is rarely the case teams are as bad or as good compared to their worst / best performance. Despite losing all 3 matches, they played a remarkable good 1st half away against Oostende and lost by 1 goal against Club Brugge who took a red card early. Against the asian closing line they are 0.5W-1L-1.5P losing only -0.5 units when betting them flat on all 3 previous matches. Anderlecht had some issues last week against Charleroi but were able to win in the end. They are still a team with mostly new names and not yet a machine like Racing Genk right now. I rate Anderlecht as a team who should win comfortable against weaker teams while they might struggle against good opponents. Betting wise I will likely stay away pre-game. I have Moeskroen as a team that is better in the first half with a likely collapse in the 2nd half. Betting on Anderlecht at higher odds compared to the closing line will be my main objective live. An early goal from the home team would kill most of the betting action unless the visitors are able to score during the macth. A late counter goal when Anderlecht are up by 1 goal will also be high on my watchlist.
