The English premier league is back again this weekend after the international break and Chelsea will welcome Newcastle United to Stamford Bridge for the week 9 matches. Lot of football lovers will be glad to see their favourite players back to action for their respective clubs. Chelsea so far this season has rise up to many people expectation with they way the youths are performing for the club but despite all the good play, they have only recorded one home win so far in the league and many of their winnings has always be away from home.

Newcastle on the other ends is not really in good form, although, they won their last game at home against Manchester United and one of their biggest away win this season has also come against another top side Tottenham. Both Chelsea and Newcastle had a good result before going on international break and while Chelsea will be hoping to break into the top 4, Newcastle will be trying to avoid further risk at the bottom of the table, though a win against Manchester United in their last game will really serve as a major boost and that will make the game at Stamford Bridge an interesting one.

Chelsea

Chelsea performance so far this season has really drawn lot of attention towards them. They have gotten a manager who so much believes in youth and that has been working perfectly for him, with players like Tomori, Mount and Abraham all performing wonderfully in the team and that as well as also earned them a call into the England national team. Tammy Abraham form for the Blues so far this season is nothing but a great form with the young striker scoring 8 goals in 8 league matches for the club. Although some of their players will be absent in that encounter due to some minor injuries sustained when away on international duties. Ngolo Kante had an adductor strain with France on international duty but has returned to light training and the manager may leave him out of the match to be properly fit while Rudiger is still out to knee injury. Chelsea after defeating Southampton 4-1 at home before the international break are really in good shape upfront with the likes of Willian, Hudson-Odoi, Mount and Abraham all match fit while Pulisic may also feature again from the bench.

Newcastle

Despite not doing well in the league, Newcastle win against Manchester United before the international break will be a major boost for the team in their trip to Stamford Bridge. Joelinton will be leading the team upfront and his really going to be a threat for a team like Chelsea that is so allergic to clean sheet this season. Although the striker has had just 1 goal to his name since joining the club but look like the most desperate player in the Newcastle team so far this season with 10 shots more than any other player in the team and more duels. The player has created 9 chances so far behind 10 chances created by the remaining players. Some players will also be missing out in the trip, Isaac Hayden will be serving his second game ban from his 3 match ban while players like Matt Ritchie and Florian Lejeune are still out to injuries.

Possible Line Up

  • Chelsea

Kepa, Azpilicueta, Zouma, Tomori, Alonso, Jorginho, Kovacic, Willian, Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Abraham

  • Newcastle

Dubravka, Yedlin, Schar, Lascelles, Clark, Willems, Almiron, M Longstaff, S Longstaff, Saint-Maximin, Joelinton

Match Prediction

Chelsea going into this game have all it takes to win the game and their manager Frank Lampard will be hoping for another positive result at home with the only one so far this season coming against Brighton. Tammy Abraham will be hoping to increase his goal tally against a team that went 5-0 down to Leicester City some weeks back. Newcastle, if at all they are going to go away with a draw will have to do everything to shutdown players like Hudson-Odoi, Mount and Willian in the attack which will be a little bit difficult. Hudson-Odoi has been so wonderful since returning from injury, scoring goals and providing assist while willian performance recently has dropped Pulisic to the bench.

My Tip

Chelsea 3 - 1 Newcastle
