This will be a battle of supremacy between two teams who are not in a very good form lately. The La Liga clash of the titans between Real and Sevilla will not be for the top spot in the league. The winner of this game will remain in the third position in the league table. However, in the context of their recent form and the timing, this game has a huge value for both teams. Who will come out on top? Can Solari finally get his team back on track? Can Sevilla repeat the performance they displayed back in September 2018 when they won 3-0 against Real?
Recent Form
Real Madrid -
Real is struggling in the league at the moment as they are not able to score goals and win. The win against Real Betis was not the turn-around everybody was hoping for. Midweek, they lost 1-0 to Leganes on a Copa Del Rey match. There is a strong resentment among fans and Coach Solari is under tremendous pressure to deliver. Benzema is playing fine but the team has not performed well. The other worry Solari has to deal constantly is the injury of his main players and that seems to never go away.
Sevilla -
Although the team is currently seating at the third place with equal points to Real, this Sevilla is not the same team in terms of performance that beat Real 3-0 in the last head to head. They had an amazing start of the campaign and lost their way in between. They are almost out of the title challenging position, which seems to happen between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Their recent form has not been something they will be proud of. Going into the match, they will hope to regain their form back against their not-so-in-form opponents.
Analysis
Real Madrid
The team has not been performing well this season. Solari was appointed as a new coach of the team but he has been struggling with nagging injuries of his main players like Bale, Acensio. Benzema is the only one to rely on but even he was injured and fractured his finger .The recent team news suggested that he will play against Sevilla this weekend. Young players like Vincius are grabbing the opportunities. For consistent wins, the main players need to click and that has not happened yet for Real. There were hues and cries over Solari’s treatment to Isco and why he has not been given enough opportunities. Isco played midweek against Leganes but did not produce anything spectacular to avoid defeat. He did not perform well enough to earn back the respect he desperately needed from Solari. Along with these problems, Real Madrid will have a pressure to perform in the home ground of Bernabeu. They need all the good luck and good support to win this game.
Sevilla
On the other hand, Sevilla will also be looking to comeback to a winning form. They have to gather full three points If they want to remain on the title hunt. They started the season with a bang. They scored 3-0 at their home turf in their previous match up. At one point in the start of the seasons, they were at the top of the table. But, recent drop in form and their inability to secure a win is making them vulnerable against Real playing away from home. IF they lose point here, they may well be out of the contention. In that sense, it is a do-or-die game from them. Ben Yedder's form is crucial for the team as their star striker Silva is not prolific lately.
Prediction
It is hard to predict who wins the game because of their recent forms. Sevilla has been particularly not predicted to win in Bernabeu. Both sides are leaking goals lately. So, it will be a high scoring match. I predict it to be 2-1 in favour of Real Madrid because of their home advantage.
Scorum betting
Betscorum.com currently has a very juicy odd for over 3.5 goals at 2.29. I think it's likely to have a 2-2 draw. Odds for a Sevilla win is high at 4.5 and a draw is at 4.19. Even-though I think Real Madrid will win this match I am betting for a draw. Let's see. This is my first proper betting on betscorum.com.
