We all have different goals when we start interacting with a community like Scorum. Some people are here strictly to make money while others are here for the community aspect. For me, being here on the Scorum platform is all about engagement and community building. Don't get me wrong, I am totally into the fact that I can earn rewards for posting content. I mean, who wouldn't love to get paid for writing about the things that you are most passionate about. I have finally found a community that I can engage with about sports every single day. I had found what had been missing in my previous experiences. I found Scorum!!!

I started blogging on Steemit about 10 months ago. It was right after the big crypto boom and I was eager to cut my teeth and earn some Steem. The initial lure was the opportunity to earn some crypto but to be honest, joining Steemit was about a whole lot more than that. I had always wanted to write more and produce work for others to read. This seemed like a win-win opportunity for me. I couldn't wait to share all my passion for sports and fantasy football with the Steemit world. It didn't take long for me to realize that there was a very small market for sports on Steemit and that the reality was, nobody there wanted to read my content. I did find a niche on Steemit and focused my content on education with some sports and other stuff mixed in but there was always something lacking. Finding Scorum has been a game changer for me.

It was like finally finding everything I had always been looking for                                                               Source

The first thing that blew me away was the overwhelming welcome that I received from the community. What? Scorum members are actually excited to see new bloggers and they welcome people with open arms? Wow!!!! This is what a community is supposed to look like. Current users welcoming new people because the more good people you have then the more growth you can find for the platform as a whole. Steemit has lots of wonderful communities out there but you need to go find them. There are not too many people that are offering to engage with you from the moment you arrive. Scorum is setting the standard for being a welcoming group in my opinion.

Scorum members made me feel like I had a welcome parade just for me                                                                 Source

That brings me to the point of this whole post, engagement!!! Scorum has exceeded everything I had hoped for when I signed up last month. I knew that I was joining a platform where I could share sports content with likeminded people and read lots of great content from others but it is so much more. Scorum is an incredibly engaging community. The first thing that popped out to me was the number of relevant comments on posts. Members were actually reading the posts and then making comments that sparked discussion and engagement. This is a key component for any social site that has a hope to be successful. If members don't engage with each other then how can you build a community?

Ever had that feeling after reading comments that had nothing to do with your post at all?                          Source

As if that wasn't enough to get my juices flowing, there were the contests. There are many great members here on Scorum that are running contests all the time in an effort to make the platform fun and engaging. There are weekly pick-em pools, game predictions, survivor pools and so much more. There are members who run contests to find and support new users on the platform in an effort to help them get recognized for their great work. There are even fantasy sports leagues that are completely organized and run through the relationships and posts here on the Scorum platform. MIND BLOWN!! There are too many to name them all but some of the great members here on Scorum that are running super fun contests include @mikey, @pete, @rawdowg and @liuke96player.

This is how I feel about my time so far here on Scorum                                                                   Source

As if that wasn't enough, @tuck-fheman took it to a whole new level with his Madden '19 NFL esports fantasy league. As a Scorum user, all I had to do was choose a team and say that I was in. Being a huge football fan and fantasy junkie, I couldn't resist the opportunity to get involved. I figured that he would simulate the fantasy draft, let us know our teams and them run the season simulator. Afterward, we would get the results and find out if we won. Boy was I wrong!!! @tuck-fheman has been sharing the results of games and streaming games on Twitch. We are constantly getting updates and information about how the teams are doing. He even takes the time to create small gifs of highlights from many of the games and posts them in the Bro Sports discord.

So began the Epic Journey of my esports fantasy football team                                                        Source

I am truly floored by the level of effort that is being put into this contest and also the amazing engagement it has created within the community. It is funny, there was a point yesterday where I was more engaged and interested in what was happening with my Madden '19 team in a simulated game being shown on Twitch than I was in the NFL game that was on my television in front of me. There has been lots of bantering and discussion in the discord and through the comments on @tuck-fheman's posts. I think there might have even been some side wagers made on the outcomes of some games. For more information about the league check out his league intro post and follow @tuck-fheman to see all the action. Not only are he and the many other community members running these contests, they are also putting up their own Scorum coins for the rewards. Talk about giving back!!

THIS is what I joined Scorum for and exactly why Scorum is going to be a successful platform long term. The members here are dedicated to creating good content and initiating amazing engagement through fun and interactive contests. Thank you to all the amazing Scorum users our there and the developers that continue to improve and help grow the platform. I have found a home and a place to grow!!!

Stay tuned for a contest coming soon from @broncofan99!!!
