The Both teams played for a temporary first place in their Champions League group.

Chelsea had many changes compared to the squad that stood 0-0 with Tottenham on Sunday. From the start, the English team sat on the game, and after only 8 minutes, Olivier Giroud, who had the chance from the start today, was played free in the field by Kai Havertz. The Frenchman took a move and put the ball in goal with a felt inside to make it 1-0.

It was obvious that the players of Sevilla lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Thus, the break position became 1-0 to Chelsea.

The second half continued with Chelsea dominance and Sevilla had a hard time coming up with the big chances. 10 minutes into the second half, Giroud was sent deep, lobbing with French elegance the ball over Vacas in the Sevilla goal to make it 2-0.

With a quarter of an hour left, Giroud completed his perfect hat-trick when, after an excellent cross from compatriot N'Golo Kante, he headed the ball into Sevilla's goal.

However, it did not end there for the French national team striker, who got a penalty kick with ten minutes left of the match. Giroud took care of it, scoring confidently to make it 4-0. Giroud's four goals secured three points for Chelsea and a preliminary first place in the group with three points down to Sevilla.
