Scorum - Brazilian soccer legend Ronaldo Luiz Nazario reveals five teams he judged to have the potential to become World Cup champions in 2018. There is no Brazilian name on the list.
Ronaldo called the five potential teams, the defending champions Germany, 2010 edition champions Spain, England, champions of the 2000 edition of France, and Argentina.
The former footballer did not choose Brazil to be one of the championship contenders, calling England a title winner at the world's most grand football tournament.
"I think Germany is always a strong team, as are Spain, England, France, Argentina with Lionel Messi, it's always difficult to win a World Cup title," he said.
"But, we will see a beautiful World Cup, I hope Brazil can win the title again," he added.
Brazil have never been champions again after the last time the World Cup in 2002. At that time, Brazil beat Germany in the final with two goals without reply victory, the whole goal brought by Ronaldo.
Ronaldo was the man of the match in the final and sealed the 2002 World Cup Golden Boot title with eight goals.
In total, Ronaldo won two World Cup titles with Brazil, namely in the 1994 and 2002 editions. He scored 62 goals in 98 appearances with the Brazilian national team.
