Monday evening put Lafia Township Stadium in an electrifying mood as Nasarawa United popularly know as the miners rose to the occasion as they put up a master class display before their home fans as they put two(2) pass their South-South opponent.
The game now gave Nasarawa United their second victory this season in the Nigeria professional Football League and saw them jump off the relegation zone.
The victory moved them from the 11th position to 5th on the log with 6 points, thereby cutting down the points by the group leaders to five (5) points, but on the other hand sentencing Akwa United to the bottom of group B with just two(2) points.
Before this match both teams were separated by a point, so we expected two relegation threatened side to fight for survival, with both teams having such an unbalanced attack with porous defense.
The story took a different turn when both teams get into the field of play.
The home side dominated the game with ease at the early minutes into the game as coach Everton's tactics was been question by fans in the stands. Though the host got a clear chance in the 12th minute to take the lead, Akwa United keeper stretch in to rescue the situation. The pressure was still very high for the away team but on the 28th minute Always United best opportunity came around when Mfon Udoh reached at the end of Etboy's cross but Galadima Mohammed rushed in to send the ball to a safe place.
The first half didn't have much electrifying moments after then to offer as it ended goalless.

Though they only managed a goalless draw at half time, the second half had some good tidings for the fans as they comfortably scored two(2) goals, setting up a 2-0 win over Akwa United.
Early into the second half, Akwa United made two substitutions as Ndifreke replaced Atuloma while Ekpo replaced Jamiu Alimi.
13' into the second half Nasarawa United drew the first blood through Shammasu Mohammed who was assisted by Sanusi Ibrahim from a low cross to give his team the long awaited lead.
A golden chance came the way of the Promise Keepers few minutes later when a mix up in Nasarawa United defense dropped in for Mfon Udoh in a one on one situation with the goal stopper but we couldn't believe our eyes when the sticker placed the ball off target.
To further strengthen the attacking line of Akwa United, Ubong Friday came in to replaced Juwon Oshaniwa but all yielded no positive result.
When we thought that the Promise Keepers were resilient enough not to let in another goal at 90' but couldn't withstand it at injury-time Substitute Morris Daddy fired a left footed bullet shoot to send the fans into dancing as the Lafia based team secured all three points.
The result has left the Promise Keepers winless after four games thereby putting coach Rafael Everton under pressure as they return home to welcome Go Round FC in Uyo on Sunday being the 3rd of February,2019 on matchday 6 of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
