It's the second week of the ongoing 2019/2020 Nigeria Women Premier League. Two away wins were recorded as both Sunshine Queens and defending champions Bayelsa Queens got maximum points against Kaduna Queens and Nasarawa Amazons respectively.

At the Lafia Township Stadium NWPL holders, Bayelsa Queens FC silent the Amazons as they picked up maximum points in matchday 2 win against newly crowned Aiteo Cup winners. Bayelsa Queens FC led the host at either half as they ran away with a 1-2 win to keep their title defence campaign on track after a 3-0 win over Kanuna Queens on Matchday 1 while Nasarawa Amazons pull a surprising 0-0 away draw against Sunshine Queens in Akure, Ondo State.


Bayelsa Queens midfielder Anjor Mary with jersey number 40 scored a brace as she pulled a superb performance in game. Amarachi Odoma registered a goal for the home side early in the second half at the 54' to level scores but they couldn't hold up for so long as they were pull behind 4 minutes later.

With the victory, Moses Aduku’s side top of Group C with 6 points followed by Sunshine Queens FC on four(4) points, while Nasarawa Amazons have just a point and Kaduna Queens at the bottom of the log with no point.

Match day 3 in the group will pitch a top of the table clash between Bayelsa Queens and Sunshine Queens in Yenagoa.

Gift Monday stole the show at the last minute of the encounter as she scored at the 90+2 minute to give FC Robo maximum points.

Invincible Angels 1-1 Confluence Queens

Invincible Angels were held to a stalemate at home.

Hembafan Ayatsea gave the Angels the lead at the 65″ but Aweda Titilayo leveled scores at the 73″.

Kaduna Queens 1-2 Sunshine Queens

After a disappointing 0-0 draw at home on matchday 1 Sunshine Queens bounce back to winning ways.

Patricia Innocent gave the host the lead at the 43″ with the hope to go run away with a first half lead but

Israeal Florence equalized from the spot at the 45+2" to pull a first half draw. Akudo Ogbonna struck in the winning goal at the 71″ as she left the host heartbroken.

Adamawa Queens 2-0 Dream Stars Ladies

Two second half goals from

Marvellous Duru 54″ and George Chinyere 62″ was enough to give the host maximum points.

Delta Queens 1-0 Rivers Angels

A 45+1" spot kick from Maryann Ezeanagu was all Delta Queens needs to win.
