First of all, what is the VAR ?
The VAR is composed of a set of cameras that transmit the images to an isolated room in the field, where video assistants can review the plays. There are only four types of bids that can be reviewed. This assistance can occur at the request of the referee (in case of doubt in one of the plays that can be reviewed), or if the assistants observe a dubious bid and communicate the judge of the match through the headset.
At this point, the video assistants reproduce the images on their monitors and pass their conclusions to the referee. It is the latter who makes the final decision. You can do this after also viewing the images on a monitor located on the side or relying solely on the discretion of the assistants.
Types of play that can be reviewed by the VAR
- Gols
- Penalty
- Red cards
- In some bids involving many players, the referee does not know who made the foul or does not see what happens
Now what I think about VAR in this year of the World Cup 2018
Three times that VAR Robbed 100% in this World Cup 2018
Diego Costa was not penalised for what seemed a foul on Portugal defender Pepe
-----------------------------------------"------------------------------------------------"----------------------------------------------------
Harry Kane is clearly manhandled to the ground - but VAR did not intervene
-----------------------------------------"------------------------------------------------"----------------------------------------------------
Daniel Colindres appeared to hit out at Luka Milivojevic but after a VAR review the referee was not asked to look again
-----------------------------------------"------------------------------------------------"----------------------------------------------------
The VAR is great for reviewing dubious plays or fouls committed and mostly almost never fail but this year in the 2018 Cup I think they were very bad, many mistakes that could have been avoided and I just wonder how it is that with video game they can not see. Something has to change seriously. Corruption in the cup? Who knows .... money these days is worth more than a human life.
