Vidi vs Chelsea

Coming up later today will be the final group stage game in the Europa league. It will be a game where one team desperately needs the points while the other team couldn’t care less about the result.

Today will be the final group stage game for Chelsea who will be going over to Vidi to try to get a win and try to finish the group stage without a single draw or loss.

Although this match doesn’t have any importance for them, which means even if they lose the game, it has no significant effect on their progress. For the fans, this fixture is strictly for entertainment and also to see the younger players perform.

Vidi are currently in 3rd position and desperately need to win this game to stand a chance of possible progress if Bate slips.

For Chelsea, the result of this game does not matter to them as they have already progressed. The game will probably be a game where they give a lot of young players their chance to show what they can do.

Vidi vs Chelsea

This game is one of those games most of the blues fans are anticipating, to have a chance to see the academy players given a chance to showcase what they are capable of, especially players like Hudson Odoi and Ampadu who are academy players with amazing qualities.

For Vidi, they are playing at home, in front of their supporters which will be a huge advantage for them as they desperately need to win this game.

They already know how strong this Chelsea side are, so for them to get any result from this game, they will surely need to be at their very best and perform at above 100%.

For Chelsea, they will be going into this very relaxed because the result doesn’t matter. The game will probably be a game of pride for them.

They are playing away at Vidi who desperately need a victory to stand a chance of progressing, so they know how difficult the game will be. Even though the result doesn’t matter to them, the young players will want to win the game and perform at their very best to show the manager that they are ready to play on the bigger stage.

My Expectations in Terms of Tactics and Gameplay

For Vidi, they will probably lineup in a 4-3-2-1 formation and will want to go all-out attack from the kickoff whistle. They have everything to fight for in this fixture and will want to give their best to try to get the win.

For Chelsea, they will most likely setup in their preferred 4-3-3 formation and will probably make a lot of changes from the team that faced Mancity last weekend. For them, this match is a game to give game time to the young players and players who haven’t featured much this season.

My Players of Focus

My players of focus for this game are Hudson Odoi and Ampadu. These young Chelsea academy players have shown that they have the qualities to become top players. I will be keeping my eyes on them to see how they perform in a very difficult game like this, against a team that will be fighting like wounded lions.

My Prediction

For me, I think this game is a very tricky one to predict. On paper, the blues are expected to win this fixture but they are more likely to play a different set of players which makes it very tricky to predict the outcome.

Vidi needs the win more, so they would give their all to get the win and hope Bate slips.

I think the game will be very open for both teams, which might be an opportunity for both teams to score more goals in the match.

We all know this is football and anything can happen… this is just my personal opinion, so let’s wait and see what happens tonight, we hope for an entertaining game of football for the fans to enjoy.

And that is a wrap…
