It was the continuation of the premier league matchday 31 as Liverpool who are under pressure in their title race got the crucial away win against Fulham at the cottage. An important victory that takes Liverpool 2 points clear at the top.

It was a happy matchday before the international break for the Liverpool fans, a fantastic result to go back to the 1st position which could eventually be temporary but a very important step towards their title race to put pressure on Mancity.

Lots of talking points are currently circulating around Liverpool about their chances of winning the premier league after so many years, but they are still very much in it and can still win it all depends on what happens till the final game of the season.

Brief Post-Match Analyses

It was an exciting atmosphere at the Craven Cottage as title race Liverpool vs relegation battling Fulham locked horns as they both continue to fight for their targets.

For the Liverpool fans, it was a must-win game and they will be pleased that the team got the all-important 3 points. Liverpool setup in their usual 4-3-3 formation, while Fulham setup in their preferred 4-3-3 formation.

The game began in a bright manner and Liverpool immediately looked very dangerous from the first minute, having more of the possession and got their reward later on in the first half through a very nice Mane goal before giving out a goal cheaply and them scoring a late winner to ensure they leave with the crucial 3 points. Fulham had their moments but were not enough chances to actually get any result out of the game.

Mane was the first goal scorer for Liverpool in the 26th minute, as he tapped in from close range from a cutback pass, after a very nice attacking play down the left-hand side.

Former Liverpool player Babel equalized for Fulham in the 74th minute from a defensive confusion by Van Dijk and Alisson to allow Babel to steel the ball and have all the time in the world to tap the ball home even in slow motion.

Milner scored the winning goal from the penalty spot to put the visitors in front in the 81st minute, to ensure that Liverpool exit the ground with the all-important 3 points in the bag and now put pressure on Man City to win their outstanding game.

It was a very important and much-needed victory for the reds as they now go into the international break with a 2 points lead at the top. This victory now means that Liverpool stands a chance to make the lead permanent if City slips in their outstanding fixture.

The title race has been very tight this season and from the look of things, it would most definitely go on till the last game of the season.
