The back-to-back premier league champions begin their new season campaign in top form, from where they left off last season. For the City fans, it was the much-anticipated first game of the 2019/2020 season, to kick off what will be another tough challenge not only for them, but for all the teams involved. Man City kicked off their first game of the season against West Ham away at the London Stadium, a game that turned out to be a one-way traffic for the sky blue side of Manchester, as Man City annihilated the hammers to continue where they stopped last season.

Man City had a very successful last season, surpassing what they achieved previously and will be looking to do even more this season. They have already begun their campaign being ruthless and have now topped Liverpool in first place after their merciless 5 nil annihilation of West Ham today.

West Ham had a pretty decent season last season, finishing in the top half of the table and will be looking to achieve better heights this season. their first game of the season against the title holders wasn’t as desired, nevertheless, it is just the first game of the season and there are a whole of games to get back on track to pursue their targets.

As usual, it was an amazing atmosphere at London Stadium for the first game of the 2019/2020 premier league season, lots of excitements for the game.

Man City setup in their usual 4-3-3 formation while West Ham on the other hand, setup in their usual 4-2-3-1 formation. The final scoreline says it all, this game was basically a one-way traffic as Man City were mostly dominant for most parts of the game. West Ham had their moments but weren’t enough to have an impact in the game. It didn’t take long for City to open the scoring before going on to complete the annihilation.

Gabriel Jesus scored the first goal for Man City in the 25th minute, guiding a cutback cross home.

Raheem Sterling doubled the lead in the 51st minute, keeping his cool to put the ball home from a one-on-one situation.

Raheem Sterling made it 3 in the 75th minute, receiving a defense splitting pass and lofting the ball home just in front of the goalkeeper.

Sergio Aguero added his name to the scoresheet and made it 4 in the 86th minute, converting from the spot kick.

Raheem Sterling completed the annihilation in added time, receiving yet another defense splitting pass to place the ball home for his hattrick and 5th goal for Man City in their opening match of the season.

It was a great game for the title holders as they begin their season in emphatic fashion. This win takes Man City above Liverpool on the table on goal difference.
