This weekend, we are going to be witnessing a clash of two colors of the spectrum… the blues hosting the red devils at the bridge. A game which many football fans all over the world are anticipating.

As the fixures say, the game will be the biggest game of the weekend and a lot of eyes are going to be on that one.

Chelsea vs Man United is always a game which every football fan all over the world wants to watch… it is a game between successful clubs who are pretty much rivals and are all fighting for the same goal, which is the premier league title or a top 4 spot. But this season, both teams seem to be heading in different directions.

The Chelsea team which is been managed by a new manager are already settling into the new system and idea of football and are currently unbeaten.

Man United, on the other hand, are still with Mourinho for the third season but are really finding it very difficult this season. They have already lost most of their games this season and have been very poor in terms of performance.

So the game between the two sides this weekend will be an interesting game to watch as both teams have a completely different style of football. One team play a very attacking style while the other team plays a more defensive style. It will be nice to see how the two managers approach the game.

Talking about how the two managers will approach the game this weekend, let’s quickly take a look at how both managers like to play and how the teams have done so far this season...

Sarri

As we have seen from his days at Napoli and the past games at Chelsea, you can clearly see his idea of football and how he wants his team to play. He is a manager who loves his team to attack and press while also try to keep possession and control the game. His teams usually create goal scoring chances by making cleaver movements and run in behind the opposition defense, stitching passes here and there to try to create space and chances to score. If done correctly, his teams are always a joy to watch as they most times enjoy themselves on the pitch.

Mourinho

Jose as a manager hasn’t really changed much in terms of how his teams play football. Still the same old counter attacking/defensive style of football. He likes his teams to stay compact and create a defensive block, then try to catch the opponent on the counter. Some fans call it boring, but for Mourinho, it is more like effective football.

Chelsea this season

Chelsea season is actually on a good start, playing good football, winning most of their games already and are currently unbeaten in all competitions. At the start of the season, most pundits and fans already wrote them off as title contenders, only putting their bet on either Man City or Liverpool to win the league. Chelsea isn’t bothered about how everybody have written them off concerning the league title but instead focused on playing their football and taking it one game at a time and are currently second place on the table. After their good start and the way they are performing, some persons are not beginning to see them as real title contenders.

Man United this season

Man United, on the other hand, have already had their worst start to the season since over 20 years, losing most of the games in all competition and are currently 8th place on the table. Some might argue that it is still very early to the season, but their performances this season hasn’t been good either and that is the real concern.

HOW BOTH TEAMS WILL PROBABLY SETUP

For Chelsea, looking at how they have set up this season, we can try to predict how they will probably setup tomorrow against the red devils. They will most likely setup in a 4-3-3 formation and lineup pretty much the same as they lined up against Southampton.

For Man United, they will most likely try to set up differently to limit the attacking threats of Chelsea. Looking at how Jose has done in the past, he will probably set his team up in a 5-4-1 and try to hit them on the counter. Their possible lineup will be similar to the one that beat Newcastle in their last match with a little bit of personnel change to fit the formation for the game.

MY EXPECTATIONS IN TERMS OF TACTICS AND GAMEPLAY

For Chelsea, it will still be the same way of playing… Attack, press, and try to keep possession for as long as possible. They will want to pass the ball around, making movements and try to create chances through cleaver passes and runs. Their gameplay often revolves around Jorginho and he has been very crucial in the way this Chelsea team play, dropping deep to receive the ball and dictate the play by his exceptional passing abilities.

For Man United, no one really knows what to expect from them because of the match they are up against. But guessing from past games, I can probably predict a more defensive approach and counter attacking football. Jose isn’t about keeping possession and passing the ball around, he is more focused on the results and not the way the team play. If the team wins a match, it is amazing play as far as he is concerned, not minding how they got the win.

So I see them trying to make the game compact and be as defensive as possible then waiting for a counter attacking moment. Their key player is Pogba for sure and they will be looking to make sure he gets on the ball as much as possible.

MY PLAYER FOCUS

My player focus will be Hazard… he has been on fine form this season, performing at the top of his game. So I will be looking out for him to take responsibility and show the world why he is one of the best players in the world and probably the best player in Europe currently.

All eyes will be on him and I am sure Mourinho is figuring out a plan to try to limit his threats. I believe this is the game hazard need to show his true abilities and why he is the best player in the league. He needs to perform at his very best to help the team scale though the difficulties during the match.

MY PREDICTION

For me, this game is difficult to predict, as this is a very big game and both teams will try to play for pride. All I will say is that they should put up a good game of football for the fans to enjoy and then we can see what happens at the end of the match.

And that is a wrap…

What do you think… What is your score prediction?
