First Half Action

Serie A newcomers Venezia defiled the odds as they beat Jose Mourinho's A.S Roma 3 - 2 last Sunday. The host took an early lead as defender Mattia Caldara scored in the 3rd minute. Roma managed to get themselves back in the game when Eldor Shomurodov levelled the scoreline in the 43rd minute. Just in the stroke of half-time, Tammy Abraham struck to give the visitors the lead.

Second Half Action

Parity was restored in the 65th minute as Mattia Aramu drilled home from the penalty spot. But the all important goal came in 74th minute of the encounter. Nigerian striker Dennis Okereke scored after he was played through by Aramu. Venezia held on and claimed a famous victory. What a day for the players and their fans!

Historic Moment!

The victory over AS Roma is their first since February 1999. This is also their first time to score 3 goals in a Serie A game in nearly 20yrs. A famous victory indeed. The players must be proud of themselves for the hard work. Regardless of how their Serie A campaign ends, this is one not to be forgotten in a hurry.
